It happens....someone gets two bunnies they think are the same sex.
Turns out they are male and female, and before they know it, they have a litter.
They remove the male, not knowing he had bred with the female again already, and a month later, they find they have a second litter.
And before they know it, there are 35 rabbits.
This is one of those rabbits.
They were never neglected or mistreated.
The owner loved them, just found things got out of hand.
Shelters told her it would cost $100 per rabbit "give up fee" and they would not guarantee they would not be put to sleep.
I have them all marked as "unknown" with kids, cats, dogs, and other animals, because the owner didn't have other pets or young children.
But....easy going dogs, cats, or children that understand the proper handling of pets, they may be just fine.
This is Brownie.
He is under 2 years old.
Seems good with other bunnies, and perhaps a good candidate for bonding with a sweet bunny-girl.
He is, oh-so adorable and we will be scheduling him in for his neuter soon.
$75 adoption fee includes Chestnut (neutered before adoption), an indoor cage, litter box, bowls and starter supply of hay, litter and pellets.
